Pareto Point Industry Launches TopDogV
Orlando, FL
December 14, 2009 Pareto Point Industries (PPI) announces TopDog V, a parallel oil bypass filtration system. This groundbreaking product, which super-filters to the 2 micron filtration level, has numerous features that surpass and add value over traditional bypass filtration products; and, it can be installed by virtually anyone in just a few minutes, using only a ratchet and a drill. TopDog V was recently launched at two of the premier Trade Shows for the Automotive Industry: the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and the Performance Racing Industry Show in Orlando. At both shows, it garnered rave reviews and attracted the attention of major filtration and high performance companies, as well as distributors, retailers, and enthusiasts.
In addition to the technical improvements and quick installation that TopDog V offers over current technology, it is significantly less expensive. Adan Reinosa, P.E., PPI’s President states “The TopDog V system provides a brand new way of providing bypass filtration to any engine or system using a spin-on oil filter, and its proprietary connection will surprise those vested in older or current bypass technology. TopDog V’s innovative patent pending system uses an adapter which allows the system to be connected to an engine in a couple of minutes, rather than the three to six or more hours of labor required by current systems.” By using this adapter, TopDog V is also able to eliminate the current practice of side-streaming 5-15% of the oil flow from the engine to the pan, allowing the engine to utilize 100% of the lubricant flow, critical for stressful engine situations. According to Mr. Reinosa, “By eliminating oil side-streaming, the engine is no longer subject to decreasing oil pressure and flow through bypass filtration. This is particularly important for older engines.”
Since both the full flow and the 2 micron bypass filters are in parallel, resistance to oil flow is lower, because the oil now has two branches to flow towards the engine. “The parallel connection offers a 90 to 95% and a 10 to 5% oil flow distribution split through the full flow and bypass filters, respectively. This means that the TopDog V bypass filter super-cleans oil to 2 microns at a rate of approximately 1 to 2 quarts per minute or more. At that rate, a typical car will filter all its oil to 2 microns purity continuously every five minutes or so while driving. Heck, it’s like making an oil change every five minutes. Talk about engine wear protection and reduced repairs,” says Mr. Reinosa.
The TopDog V is not limited to the transportation industry. As Dr. Robert Hammer, CEO, explains, “Any piece of equipment that uses a spin-on oil filter can benefit from this ‘bolt on protection.’ In fact, we are negotiating exclusive manufacturing and distribution arrangements with a global industrial market company after they realized the benefits TopDog V’s patent pending process provides. It was clear that a few minutes installation, the technical improvements and the many options now available, all at a price point much lower than similar products in the market now, gives TopDog V a significant competitive advantage across many markets. ”
According to Dr. Hammer, “With TopDog V, we have reduced bypass filtration to its most basic configuration. But this simplicity should not fool anyone. In fact, TopDog V is a platform for the user to connect many devices, including for example, oil coolers, filter load indicators, pumps, oil analyzers, sampling ports, a port for turbo bearing lubrication, or other such things.”
In addition to its lower cost, easy installation, robust array of potential add-ons, TopDog V is a green product that provides environmental benefits. According to Valentin Amezquita, PPI’s Chief Operating Officer and Environmental Director, “Super-clean oil means fewer emissions, improved fuel economies, the opportunity for extended oil and filter service intervals, engine longevity, deferred and less costly overhauls, all of which result in less use of our critically scarce natural resources. TopDog V is a win-win-win product for the user, the economy, and the environment.”
PPI is currently talking with several major companies about licensing, private labeling, and even exclusivity for certain industry niches. These companies include the consumer automotive, specialty automotive, off-road vehicles, construction, mining, marine, aircraft, stationary equipment, and machinery markets.
In summary, Reinosa says that “The key question from the experts looking at our system was: ‘How do you know it flows?’ Testing with a simple flow meter visually answered that question. From then on, it was ‘How soon can we have it?’”
TopDog V provides low cost and repair insurance with superb benefits, including, but not limited to:
- Fast, easy installation (Just a few steps: no need to search and tap the oil sender unit , no modifications required for the oil return stream, no complicated plumbing, and no special tools or knowledge required)
- Continuous parallel bypass superfine oil cleaning provides:
- Improved mileage
- Reduced emissions
- Increased HP
- Extended oil service intervals
- Increased full flow filter life
- Extended engine longevity
- Reduced repairs risk
- Increased oil additive life
- Removed water from oil means reduced risk of oil degradation, engine rust and corrosion
- Reduced overhaul costs
- Decreased overall environmental footprint
- Reduced oil viscosity over its operating cycle
- Reduced filtration energy required
- Elimination of oil side-streaming and related problems which are common to other bypass systems
- Easy to locate and use ports that access the oil system for gauges, oil sampling, oil coolers, etc.
- A port for turbocharger bearing oil cleaned to two microns
- Portability
